In summer Saint François Longchamp is crowded by cyclists and mountaineers. The mountain passes Col du Glandon, Col de la Croix de Fer, Col du Galibier and Alpe-d’Huez are good attainable from Saint Francois Longchamp.
From the chalet, hikers can make beatiful trips on various levels on (signed) paths; but it's also possible to start higher up from the Col de la Madeleine or take the lift Lune Bleu first (open a few days a week). In St. François Longchamp 1650 there is a nice swimming pool with a terrace. In St. François Longchamp 1450 there is a community tennis court. It's possible to do the shopping on foot in Village Gaulois or in Saint François Longchamp 1650 (bring a backpack!).

Other activities

There is a possibility to paraglide, to mountainbike (a few times a week the lift Lune Bleu can take the bike up!), to participate in organised hikes on various levels (Milly Sport), to make a tour high through the trees in the Parc des Avontures, and to go canyoning. There is childcare available.

Tour de France

The Col de la Madeleine is often part of the Tour de France. The track is just underneath the chalets and there is a good view on the participants from the balconies of the chalets!
